What is included in the package, line by line

The package at Ego Hair Clinic is pre-operative blood tests, the procedure with the medical team, post-operative medication and care products, hotel accommodation in Tirana, airport transfers, and the follow-up checks. What it does not cover is flights and personal spending. Everything below is an expansion of those two sentences, because a package price is only useful if you can see what is behind each line, and because the lines that get added later are the ones nobody printed.

The consultation and the tests

The photo analysis costs free and so does the in-clinic consultation on the day you arrive. The blood work is done here rather than asked of you at home, because the results have to be current and because a clinic that operates on tests you organised yourself has no way of knowing when they were taken. If a result rules out surgery that week, the surgery does not happen and your deposit moves to another date.

The surgery, and what “the surgery” means

One operating day, one patient. The package covers the theatre, the local anaesthetic, the consumables, the punches and blades, the implanter needles, the team, and the graft count, with the largest sessions at 4,500. There is no per-graft line, so a count that comes in higher than the estimate does not produce a second invoice.

The hotel and the transfers

the hotel stay sit inside the price, arranged so that you land, are collected, and do not need to find anything on the day before surgery. The transfer meets you at Tirana airport, which is 25 minutes from the clinic, and takes you back at the end.

The medication and the first wash

You leave with the post-operative set rather than a prescription to fill in a foreign pharmacy, and with written instructions in your own language. The first wash is the step patients get wrong on their own, so it is done at the clinic on day two while you watch, then repeated by you with someone correcting your hands. Scabs are gone by day ten to fourteen if the washing is done properly, and they stay longer if it is not.

What the package does not include is any medication for hair loss itself. Finasteride and minoxidil protect hair that was never transplanted, they are a prescription decision with your own doctor, and they are not sold here.

Twelve months of follow-up

12 months of photo check-ins, scheduled rather than left to you: month one, month three, month six, month nine and month twelve. Each one is a set of photographs taken the way you were shown, sent to +355 69 691 1118, and read by the same surgeon who operated.

This matters more than it sounds. Month one looks worse than the day you flew home, month three looks like nothing has happened, and both are normal. A clinic that answers between month one and month four is a clinic that tells you which of the two you are looking at.

What sits outside the package

Flights, meals and anything you spend in the city. Those are yours to book and they are the reason the total trip figure differs from the package figure, which is worked through on the hair transplant cost page.

A second session, if your plan needs one.

Anything clinical that is not part of a transplant. There are no add-ons offered here at the end of a surgery day, which is a deliberate difference from the package market: the list of extras that appear after a headline price elsewhere is set out on what hair transplant quotes leave out.

Is the price really one figure?

Yes, with two conditions that are stated before you pay anything: the 4,500-graft size of the largest session, and the exclusions, flights and personal spending. Inside those two limits the figure is the figure. If the analysis shows your case needs more than one session, you are quoted for both before the first is booked.

How much is the deposit and when is the rest paid?

€200 deposit The balance is settled at the clinic, and by card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) or bank transfer, in euro are accepted. Euro is used everywhere in Tirana, so there is no currency step to plan for, and nothing is taken from you before a date has been agreed in writing.

What happens if I have to cancel or move the date?

Dates are moved rather than lost where you give notice, because there are only a few patients a day and the slot can be refilled. What cannot be recovered is a flight you booked yourself, which is the practical reason to hold the surgery date first and book the flight second.

Does the package cover a family member travelling with me?

The room does. Their nights and transfers are confirmed in the quote rather than assumed, which is why it appears as an open question on this page instead of a promise. Most patients bring someone, and it is recommended for the first night after surgery.

Is the follow-up really free after twelve months?

Questions do not stop at month twelve and neither do answers. What is scheduled and included is the twelve-month programme of photo check-ins; after that you still have the same number, and any further surgery is quoted as its own case. A written guarantee for life: if transplanted grafts do not grow as planned the corrective session is covered, which does not extend to the natural thinning of hair that was never transplanted
